I'm Adam, a San Francisco–based product designer with 10+ years of experience turning complex problems into user-centered solutions—grounded in craft, research, and data-informed decisions that align with business goals. Recently at Shopify, I led UX for core products that empower both merchants and developers. I also bring agency experience, having worked with clients like Chase, Fitbit, Cisco, and Dignity Health across industries ranging from fintech to healthcare.
When I’m not designing, I’m outdoors hiking, backpacking, or bikepacking. I'm an all-around adventurer who cares deeply about outdoor education and sustainability.
EXPERIENCE

Led end-to-end UX for Shopify’s Custom Storefronts, focusing on Hydrogen (Shopify’s headless toolkit) and Domains. Partnered with product, engineering, and data teams to shape strategy grounded in user insights. Improved Hydrogen’s onboarding to reduce setup time and increase adoption, and designed developer tools that improved storefront performance and debugging. Redesigned the Domains self-serve experience to reduce support volume and give merchants more control when connecting and managing domains.

Led UX for clients (including Chase, Verifone, Dignity Health, and Fitbit) tackling complex challenges through user research, strategic systems thinking, and cross-functional collaboration. At Chase, redesigned the mobile app to boost engagement with intuitive, personalized flows. At Fitbit, enhanced the e-commerce store using dynamic content, and smarter upsell logic to increase conversion. Mentored and guided a team of designers to deliver high-quality work aligned with business goals.

Designed user-centered experiences for Via.me (a social platform for photo sharing featuring branded sticker ads that could be white-labeled and integrated into third-party apps). Collaborated with product and engineering teams to design a self-serve portal enabling advertisers to create campaigns and target audiences. Delivered responsive web and mobile designs, wireframes, prototypes, high-fidelity UI, and defined scalable design systems and developer-ready specs.
